The HealthTech and Medicines KTN would like to invite organisations who are interested in hearing about the latest Assisted Living COMPETITION to attend the workshop taking place on Thursday 10th June 2010.

The Assisted Living Innovation Platform (ALIP) and the Economic and Social Science research Council have recently announced a workshop for applicants to their call for research proposals in Economic and Business Models and Social and Behavioural studies.

The aim of the workshop is to get potential applicants together to improve understanding of the call and help applicants improve the quality of proposals, by encouraging interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.

This particular call is open to industry, 3rd sector and academic led research, with emphasis throughout on ensuring benefit to business (a must for successful applications). The workshop will therefore include advice on how to engage with industry, and other parties, using a range of models which provide for early benefit from ongoing research.  The call is aiming to bring together the stakeholders that can influence change and support the uptake of assisted living, for example: academic researchers, business, health and care professionals in PCTs and local authorities, and the 3rd sector, all of whom are eligible for funding.

We will be holding clinic sessions with representatives from the Technology Strategy Board and the ESRC. At registration please ensure you add your name to the Clinic Timesheet. Please ask a HTM KTN representative for more details.

The workshop is open to any UK industrialist, academic or clinician working in the area of Assisted Living there is NO CHARGE to attend.
